Kahn e Selesnick

To write is to make oneself the echo of cannot stop talking – and because of this, in order to become its echo, I must to a certain extent impose silence on it. To this incessant speech, I bring the dicisiveness, the authority of my own silence. Trough my silent mediation, I make perceptible the uninterrupted affirmation, the giant murmur in which language, by opening, becomes image, becomes imaginary, an eloquent depth, an indistinct fullness that is empty. To sleep with open eyes is anomally symbolically indicating which the general consciousness does not approve of. People who sleep badly always appear more or less guilty. What do they do? They make night present. (Maurice Blanchot)
